Rob Galbraith Tattooist (Owner) The Stolen Magpie
I have been an artist for my whole life and have a fascination with all things design. I started my artistic career as a graphic designer with a passion for comic illustrations but as I progressed through my art education, I found my calling in fine art portraiture. I founded Galbraith Galleries in 2020 as a formal way to showcase my work and since then have sold work around the world. I have trained as a tattooist alongside my mentor Sunny at the Black Diamond Tattoo Studio in London. I have formed strong bonds with tattooists here in Southampton. In 2022 I created the Stolen Magpie Tattoo Studio. A vibrant safe place for the best artists and clients to work together to make their body art dreams come to life. As an artist I am inspired by everything that has ever touched my soul. Whether it be the first time I heard punk music or the first time I saw a graffiti piece, these moments stick with me and inspire the marks I make.
This gives me a broad palette to create custom designs from to fulfil any brief. I particularly enjoy designing tattoos in an illustrative style with influences from tribal art, manga, graffiti, record sleeves, hot rods and anything else that catches my attention at any given moment.
I aspire for all of my designs to be timeless, individual, sit well on the body and designed to age well. A tattoo is for life, not just for Christmas. Let's make tattoos that will impress your embalmer!!
